Sorry it has taken so long for me to update these reviews, it been hell at uni and its finally mid-semester break time BOO YAH. I will post some reviews soon and its a new season, meaning NEW ANIME!

Claymore (Story and animation look interesting, lots of blood)
Devil May Cry the Anime (Devil. May. Cry.)
5 Centimeters per Second (One of the works by Makoto Shinkai, scernery work is breathtaking along with heartwarming stroies)
Nodame Cantibile (One of the best comedies on air)

It has been a one long month since my last post. I dissected the extensor longus digitorum muscle a couple of days ago from the leg a still living mouse. Granted, it was drugged and unconcious, but the twitching that it makes when you hit a nerve made me nervous. Sad

Well heres a long awaited review of a new anime which funnily enough isnt from the promised list above.

Seto no Hanayome

Well, when first I noticed the promotional artwork for the Seto no Hanayome anime, I thought it would be a decent watch. However the reason why I decided to watch it? Mermaid gansters. Thats right, gansters who happen to be mermaids. Well it involves a boy named Nagasumi who is vactioning at his grandmother's house at Seto island with his mother and father. After being dragged to the beach by his father, Nagasumi somehow swims to far out and starts to drown (why his father wasn't supervising him, I have no idea...) and is saved by a mermaid (San). Long story short, mermaids are not allowed to be seen by humans and the punishment for this act of 'treason' is death of the mermaid and the human(s) that came in contact with said mermaid. However, as the father of San-chan is a yakuza godfather, he doesnt want his daughter to die he asks reluctantly for Nagasumi to marry his daughter. As they will be family, the problem will then be resolved. However, heres the catch, San-chan's father also wants to kill him so that he would get rid of any witnesses. So whilst trying to have a proper relationship with San-chan, Nagasumi is constantly under attack by Seto Clan mermaid henchmen (which suprisingly San-chan is oblivious to).

The anime is quite hilarious as Nagasumi has his life on the line, constantly being under attack from mermaid yakuza henchmen or his father-in-law himself. My favourite character is spiral shell Maki, a 5 inch tall assassin who works for the Seto Clan. Whilst being extremely cute, she is also extremely deadly as well as nerfarious, particulary against Nagasumi. Oh and theres a guy with an afro. Anyone in anime who has an afro is automatically awesome.

Well I'm quite sure you all know the William Shakespear story "Romeo and Juliet". Guy loves girl, girl loves said guy but families hate each other etc etc. Well they made it into an anime! And quite a good one at that. A few differences between this and the original story of course, for example Juliet is more badass and more awesome, flying horses exist in this world as well as hintings of magic. Oh and this have a character called "Willy" whos a playwright... COINCIDENCE? I think not.

I quite like the anime, the song " 祈り ~You raise me up~ is quite a nice song and it a japanese remake of the english song "You raise me up" sung here by Celtic Woman http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=70IHIrvAO_w&mode=related&search=
The animation is good, the characters are decent and best of all... Juliet crossdresses. NO I'M SERIOUS. Shes also more badass than Romeo. If you dont believe me, watch then intro and check out the pics on the official site.

lol i wouldnt call that crossdressing, but then again why isnt it called crossdressing when a woman wears pants and such like a guy? maybe because she doesnt try to hide her femininity while doing so? who knows *shrug*

PS i did like the song though, the lady singing it has a pretty voice and also helped that i knew the english version Wink

Wow, it has been over a month since my last "review". Well it was more of a 'hey this show exists' but anyways I have decided to save time and do previews to the whole of the Q4 2007 anime releases from Japan. Or at least attempt to Sad

Gundam 00: Never a big fan of Gundam, but if you like mecha or a part of the Gundam fanbase, this is for you.

You're Under Arrest Full Throttle: A remake of the classic YUA series I believe. I havent seen the original series so I cant make a comment about this.

Shakugan no Shana 2: BOO YAH the sequel is coming out! I have seen the first series and I must say it is a good one. A suggested watch.

CLANNAD: Its by Key. Therefore it is good. Why? Because Key made Planetarian.

Negima Live Action: Oh dear God, live action stuff.

Metal Hazard: That looks... cool

Bamboo Blade: That looks... cool. And has girls!

Dragonaut Resonance: Again looks cool, will check out.

Sketchbook ~full color'S~: What is with Japan and bad punctuation? I have found that animes with odd punctuation are often surprisingly decent to watch. Must be a selling point or something.

Maple Story: An anime on another popular MMORPG? Interesting...

Hidamari Sketch Special Edition: I loved the original Hidamari Sketch, everyone was so likable, plus it had a cool into song.

ef - a tale of memories: One of the new ones I would like to keep an eye out for. Apparently the visual novel it is based on is quite good. And the music for the novel is lovely.

Kodomo no Jikan: It contains naked children. Yeah... Japan lol. A mixed reception for this anime. I have read the manga and it does have a lot of sexual inuendo which hides a deeper plot. Manga was not released in the US as it had borderline content. I fear the anime will contained the fanservice from the manga, but none or little of the story behind the chracters.

Ah! My Goddess Special: I have watched the remake of the original series and I quite enjoyed it. I assume this is a continuation of the remake.

Genshiken Season 2: Again I have watched the original series, and I will keep an eye out for this sequel.

Gunslinger Girls Season 2: Yay! They keep making sequels of anime that I like!

And in regards to the anime that I haven't mentioned, I either have no idea about the anime or have any interest in them. I will look up info for anyone on any anime you have particular interest in on request.

Well I finally got to view some of the first episodes of a couple of new series out in Q4 2007. I'll just write short reviews on them as a summary of my prospective opinions.

Well, its yet another sob story made by KEY. Same genre and theme as the previous KEY animes, AIR and Kanon so I expect some tear jerking moments in the future. Supposedly it has a sad end, but I am a sucker for sob stories. From the looks of the opening, it seems to have decent animation as well as some CG rendering. I will most likely be following up on this anime in the future.

A much awaited sequel for me, as I thoroughly enjoyed watching the first season. Judging from the intro to the second season's anime, it seems that they have amped up the production budget. I am hoping this season will be just good as the last. This one I will be definately following.
