Well when I watch anime, I too often often enjoy the soundtrack that accompanies them too. So, I decided to review some music!
Mizuki Nana - ETERNAL BLAZE
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=89Q2Y76tmcY
ETERNAL BLAZE is the opening song for Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha. Its a pretty awesome song and the singer Mizuki Nana also voices Fate Testarossa, a chracter in the anime. The video itself is pretty artsy, but the opening animation of the anime in my opinion suits the song much better but is still well done.

| Interesting vid, those crazy asians. Neat stuff with the burning chains. Music is pretty good, but the theme/style of the video doesn't seem to fit the music, but maybe I'm out of my place to say that since it could simply be a difference of interpretation do to differences in cultures. Or maybe I'm just weird. |

Yeah, the video is a bit ill-fitting as the anime's intro has the chracters fighting in kick a** battle scenes. However, this video for this song is pretty good and is from one of the .hack// series, an anime about a computer game world similar to WoW.
FictionJuntion YUUKA - Silly-Go-Round
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oeXFE2t0AXM&mode=related&search=
FictionJunction is the solo project of composer Kajiura Yuki. Kajiura often does soundtracks for anime, and some of the works she has done include Madlax, Tsubasa Chronicle and for the song Silly-Go-Round for the lastest .hack// series, .hack//ROOTS. It often stars a female vocalist and the name after FictionJuction is representative of that. This song has a nice feel to it and the video clip to it is quite nice. Oh and the lady on the piano is Kaijura herself.

This next review I'm doing for Zyzri, as apparently she likes animes where most of the cast dies. lol.
Shimamiya Eiko - Higurashi no Naku Koro ni
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MmhZ6FYoNEs
The self-titled opening theme of the anie Higurashi no Naku Koro ni, where there is gore, torture and lots of blood. The song has quite a creepy feel to it and its music video is probably on par with the actual anime opening. I quite like listening to this whilst running through Duskwood lol.

Well this song is from a slightly older series, but its one of my favourite songs.
Shimokawa Mikuni - Sore ga Ai deshou
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KtCdrYPLimQ
This pleasant song is the opening theme to Full Metal Panic Fumoffu. Shimokawa, so far done all of the opening music for the Full Metal Panic series as well as some of the ending themes too. In my opinion, this is the best song of FMP series, with "Tomorrow" which is the opening theme for FMP season one close behind. Good stuff.

This song is for Kharastoff. Apparently hes has heard it, althoughtnot a common listener to anime music.
Kotani Kinya - BLAZE
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xXtnf1Frh_g
This song is the opening theme for Tsubasa Chronicles, an anime that I found to be quite enjoyable, even though it was targeted for a female audience. The song played to the anime's intro looks much better than when played in the music video. Although its quite artsy, Kinya spends most of the time behind the microphone rather than the vibrant scenes shown the anime. Nonetheless, quite a good song.

A non-anime song here. An older one, but still very delightful to listen to:
Utada Hikaru - COLORS
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yRi0UzlbhJA
She is one of the more famous singers in Japan, and indeed as well as the western world. I think she was born in the US, hence her voice isn't of the high pitched variety. :) A nice video with a usuallly white background with people in black costumes, in contrast to the title of the song. Well ok, there are some scenes where theres some vibrant red. Possibly my favourite song of hers. A good video and an excellent song.

I haven't done an anime review or a music review in a while so here is this music review in tandem with the Nanoha A's anime review!
Tommy February6 - Lonely in Gorgeous
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gGndWukuNVs
Well I like this song a lot, but the video clip is almost as sensical as its the name of the song. The first minute the singer is basically just stumbling around in the pink room thing. An awesome song but a lol wtf video clip.

Well its been a while since I posted a review of anything, so heres some cool stereotypical japanese jpop video clips.
Goto Maki - Yaruki, Its Easy!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4evinjOyguU
I used to love this video when I first saw it. It is quite an old song by her but its still awesome to watch for a laugh. Btw the 4 girls in white who are the background singers are members of a band known as Melon Kinenbi. I think the spelling of the band is incorrect, but they have put out a few good songs themselves.

Time to dust off those headphones and listen to some music reviews for the first time after a few months of absence :D This is the ending song to the anime Darker Than Black, which happens to be my favourite anime this season. A lovely song in contrast to the somewhat violent and dark themed anime.

Well its time for a spooky song, since I've been posting quite a few happy happy songs... This is the ending theme for Jigoku Shoujo Futakomori. The singer, Noto Mamiko, voices Enma Ai, or the Jigoku Shoujo herself. Oh... on that note, Jigoku Shoujo means Hell Girl  . The feel and the atmosphere of the song is quite spooky, which is heightened by Noto's soft and mysterious voice. The video clip itself has a plot apparently, of a ghost searching for its body... Well, here it is:

Rie Fu - Tsukiakari ... a little too slow for me
Noto Mamiko - Aizome ... a fun song thats a little more unique than most music in its genre, and the singer is gorgeous. |

I love the first flash video, do you happen to know where I could find the translation of that song they sang? Its kinda catchy, and I want to be a bride too!! Its cute factor was off the charts (almost hugged computer monitor whilst watching the video).
The second one had a super catchy song (I have a big ole weak spot for techno and found myself bobbing my head tapping my foot ect.) I hope this song is downloadable through Gendo's. As if I could be that lucky.
Keep em coming Ari-poo, I always enjoy a good flash video. |
